DISNEY TV ANIMATION

Production Intern
PENN ZERO: PART TIME HERO
PICKLE AND PEANUT

My time with Disney TV Animation was a brief yet exciting and transformative experience. Getting the opportunity to work on two different shows in varying stages of production gave me the opportunity to refine my production skills while learning a great deal about the production pipeline, the tools utilized in animation, and the strategies best suited for an efficient workflow.

The unique opportunities I was given as an intern far exceeded any expectations I had going in on my first day. By the end of the internship, I was able to produce:

  • A spec script in the style of the Roger Rabbit shorts

  • An original storyboard based on the poem "Spaghetti" by Shel Silverstein

  • An original storyboard in the style of Pickle and Peanut

  • Layouts displaying the artwork of Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero to be implemented on monitors around the Disney TV Animation Sonora property

  • Layouts for artist Emmy submissions for Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero

  • Original characters designed in the style of Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Skills Developed

  • Improved familiarity with animation production workflow technology

    • Adobe Bridge, Adobe Photoshop, ToonBoom Storyboard Pro

  • Created layouts for campus beautification, San Diego Comic Con, and Emmy submissions by posing assets in Adobe Photoshop

  • Collected and distributed notes during retake and art approval sessions with Executive Producer

  • Created original storyboards in ToonBoom Storyboard Pro to increase knowledge of program workflow and file formats
